- INTRODUCTION"The home and the Church are the only two God ordained “institution” for carrying out his work”. Church is a body of true believers in Christ, baptized by the Holy Spirit of God into the body of Christ and jointed to the Lord and to one another by that same spirit.1
- THE BASICS CONCEPTS AND MEANING OF CHURCHThe English word Church derives from the Greek Kuriakos (belonging to the Lord), but it stands for another Greek word “ekklesia”(whence “ecclesiastical”) denoting an assembly. Thus means the following also.1
- THE LEADERSHIP OF THE CHURCHChurch is an organization. Leadership set up is very important to it. Leadership is instituted by God in his institution called church. That the church is to have leadership is a divine requirement (Heb 13:7,17). We can see the leadership set up in two aspects here.1
- VARIOUS STAGES OF CHURCHThere are various stages in church growth. Before the church becomes a full-fledged biblical church it is coming through various stages. Let us see that firstly through a flow chart...1
- THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCHOrdinances can be defined as an outward rite instituted by Christ to be administered the Christ as visible sign of the saving truth of the Christian faith. There are two important ordinances in the church. They are, a) Baptism b) Lord’s supper.1
- PRAYER MEETINGSThe book of Acts shows us that prayer and prayer-meetings had a large place in the activities of the New Testament believers and Assemblies. In the very beginning of the book we find that the disciples (about 120) continued with one accord in prayer and supplication at Jerusalem while they waited for the promised descent of the Holy Spirit.1
