- MATTHEW TO ACTSThe first four books of the New Testament are called the Gospels. They were written by the disciples of Jesus and those closely associated with them. The word Gospel means good news. These written Gospels are based on eye-witness accounts.2
- ROMANS TO PHILEMONThe first five books of the New Testament are the four Gospels and the book of Acts. The remaining 22 writings in the NT are mostly letters. Some of these, like Philemon and 3 John, are very brief. Others, like Romans and Hebrews, are much larger.2
- HEBREWS TO REVELATIONEach of the letters from Hebrews and Revelation was written to individuals and groups of people in particular circumstances. These writings are better understood when there is a good grasp of the occasion and setting of the believers who received these writings.2
